Environmental, education, housing, employment and participation issues are some of the ongoing struggles people face. What new ways are being created to solve these essential issues? This is the principal question that this project explores. Our interest is people in the grass roots communities, ordinary people that by taking control of their lives have discovered self-empowerment, have realized that the solution to their problems is within their grasp.

Common Path researches and focuses on communities across the hemisphere that have found ways of solving problems by themselves, without the involvement of government in each one of these countries. In other words, we search for communities that are not dependent on central government and at the same time either now or in the future influence policy in their respective countries. The economic and governmental crisis the world is going through forces people to look for alternatives, Common Path serves as an educational tool for showing people that another World is possible not in the future, but today.  There are thousands of communities across the Globe breaking the mental and social barriers in order to create a new World where common good, hope, and aspirations can be achieved, it is the only alternative left if humanity is to survive.

Los problemas ambientales, de educación, vivienda, empleo y participación son algunas de las luchas continuas que enfrentan las personas. ¿Qué nuevas formas se están creando para resolver estos problemas esenciales? Esta es la pregunta principal que explora este proyecto. Nuestro interés son las personas en las comunidades de base, personas comunes que al tomar el control de sus vidas han descubierto el empoderamiento, se han dado cuenta de que la solución a sus problemas está a su alcance.

Sendero Común investiga y se enfoca en comunidades de todo el hemisferio que han encontrado formas de resolver problemas por sí mismas, sin la participación del gobierno en cada uno de estos países. En otras palabras, buscamos comunidades que no dependan del gobierno central y al mismo tiempo, ya sea ahora o en el futuro, influyan en la política de sus respectivos países. La crisis económica y gubernamental que atraviesa el mundo obliga a las personas a buscar alternativas, Sendero Común sirve como una herramienta educativa para mostrar que otro mundo es posible no solo en el futuro, sino en la actualidad. Hay miles de comunidades en todo el mundo rompiendo las barreras mentales y sociales para crear un nuevo mundo donde se pueda lograr el bien común. La esperanza y las aspiraciones, son la única alternativa que queda para que la humanidad pueda sobrevivir.
